Before venturing to the United States, Mr. Walia worked as a warehouse manager for Gucci and as a captain at Tandoor, a restaurant in Punjab, India. His subsequent experience in the U.S. included serving and bartender roles, where he continued to hone his skills and develop a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.
Born in Abheypur, India, Mr. Walia embarked on his professional journey after completing a bachelor’s degree from Punjab University in 1974. Initially aspiring to join the army, he moved to Muscat, Oman, before relocating to the U.S. in 1977 on a student visa.
