Ms. Williams, a distinguished architect with over 30 years of experience, is the founder of Sail Architects in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Since 2021, she has led her firm in specializing in modern, sustainable and green architecture with a focus on high-end residential design. Ms. Williams’ work emphasizes WELL principles, an international system that measures, monitors and certifies features to promote occupant well-being, including air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind. Additionally, she strives to integrate neuroscience to enhance well-being through her architectural design.

Before founding Sail Architects, Ms. Williams was the owner and architect of Williams Design Studio from 2001 to 2022. During this time, she completed over 500 projects, including 30 new homes and numerous small projects, and was recognized for her innovative approach to residential, retail and community design. Ms. Williams’ commitment to sustainable architecture has remained constant throughout her work.

Ms. Williams began her career as a designer at PCA/Prellwitz Chilinski Associates in Cambridge, Massachusetts, one of Greater Boston’s most respected innovative design firms, from 1995 to 1998. She then joined Hutker Architects in Falmouth, Massachusetts, as a project designer between 1998 and 2001. These early roles gave her valuable experience in high-end residential design and project management, laying the foundation for her future success.

In preparation for her future, Ms. Williams’ academic journey included earning a Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College in 2006. Additionally, she holds a certification in neuroscience in architecture from the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture.

Ms. Williams is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the Boston Society of Architects, the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association and the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture. Her involvement in these organizations reflects her commitment to advancing sustainable practices and innovative design within the architectural community.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Williams is dedicated to civic engagement. She served on the leukemia cup committee for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from 2016 to 2021 and has remained involved with various local boards and committees serving the Duxbury community.

Among many notable projects throughout her career, Ms. Williams recalls one for a client working with a limited budget but wanting to expand their home to better accommodate their growing family. Working closely with them to devise a plan, she was able to make it work by offering various tips that would meet their demand without exceeding their financial capabilities. This project brought Ms. Williams the most satisfaction.

Ms. Williams’ expertise in sustainable building and modern designs has earned her recognition in the industry, including being featured in South Shore Magazine and Cape Cod Life Magazine. Her contributions have also been recognized with awards such as Best of South Shore by South Shore Magazine and Runner Up for Best Kitchen Design by Boston Magazine.

Looking ahead, Ms. Williams aims to continue designing homes that enable clients to achieve peak performance while expanding her practice to include other architects who share her commitment to excellence. Additionally, she envisions establishing a foundation dedicated to creating sustainable and affordable housing solutions.
