Mr. Rock has established himself as a distinguished figure in energy conservation and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technology. As the principal owner of AMP for HVAC since 2021, he has been at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to reduce utility costs and carbon footprints in buildings. His work involves running Auditmaster Pro, a software he wholly owns and developed, which manages energy processes in buildings. With a rigorous schedule from 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Mr. Rock dedicates his time to testing theories, proving patents and managing his software company.

In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Mr. Rock has been an adjunct professor at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois, since 2019, where he teaches courses on energy conservation and energy testing and balancing. He has also held a similar position at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, since 2016. Mr. Rock’s academic roles allow him to impart his extensive knowledge in HVAC ventilation fabrication and design to aspiring engineers.

Mr. Rock’s career began with an apprenticeship at Admiral Heating & Vent in 1984, which he completed in two and a half years. He then worked for Johnson Controls before founding United Testing and Balancing in 1989, where he served as the principal owner until 2013. Mr. Rock’s expertise in energy heat transfer, HVAC optimization, and testing and balancing of air and water has earned him recognition as the highest-certified expert in these areas.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Rock received an associate degree in HVAC engineering technology from the University of South Dakota in Springfield in 1983. He also completed coursework in machining at Illinois State University in 1984. Mr. Rock’s certifications include American Society for nondestructive testing level III certification in infrared/thermal testing from FLIR Systems since 2015 and numerous others from organizations like the Association of Energy Engineers and Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, which underscore his commitment to excellence in energy management.

Mr. Rock is actively involved with industry-related organizations, such as the Associated Air Balance Council and the Association of Energy Engineers. His contributions extend beyond his professional work through various charitable efforts within his church community, where he has provided critical construction services to parishioners at no cost.

Mr. Rock has achieved significant milestones throughout his career, including obtaining patents for measuring HVAC efficiency. His innovative use of atmospheric salt as a tracer gas instead of sulfur hexafluoride has significantly reduced carbon emissions.

In recognition of his success in the industry, Mr. Rock has been featured in prominent publications such as Chief Engineer Magazine and Distributed Energy Magazine. He attributes much of his success to the unwavering support of his wife and their five children. Together with her insights and encouragement, they have navigated numerous challenges to achieve their shared dreams.

As part of Mr. Rock’s continued efforts to combat global climate change, he intends to reduce the carbon footprint through improved building utility usage while creating job opportunities through his initiatives. His ultimate goal is to win a Nobel Peace Prize for his contributions to environmental sustainability.
