Mr. Day has established himself as a formidable advocate for small businesses, leveraging his extensive experience to empower entrepreneurs. As the founder and chief executive officer of For Small Business Only LLC, based in the Washington, D.C., metro area since 2012, he has dedicated his career to advocating for small business issues and helping them build credit and gain access to capital. Mr. Day’s work involves assisting eligible small businesses in building PAYDEX scores by strategically partnering with corporate creditors. Before founding For Small Business Only LLC, Mr. Day served as a professional negotiator with S.E. Day Inc. in Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida, from 2009 to 2023. His efforts led to a partnership with a major credit union, further strengthening his reputation in the industry. Additionally, Mr. Day hosted and produced “The Legally Steal Show” for 10 years, beginning in 2009, where he shared insights on financial literacy and consumer advocacy.
Mr. Day’s entrepreneurial journey began with SEDA Development Corporation from 2005 to 2010, where he was actively involved in real estate development. Despite facing challenges during the 2008 housing market crash, he emerged with valuable insights that fueled his passion for educating others about business credit. Mr. Day’s military service as a military police officer in the U.S. Army from 1990 to 1995 also contributed to his disciplined approach and leadership skills.
Highly educated, Mr. Day earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in law enforcement from Mississippi State University in 1992. Years later, he achieved a Master of Science in community economic development from Southern New Hampshire University in 2004, an Associate Degree in public affairs administration from the Defense Information School in 2015, and a Master of Science in cybersecurity law from the Francis King Carey School of Law at the University of Maryland in 2018. Beyond his formal education, he is a certified financial education instructor and holds a POST certification in law enforcement from GPSTC since 1996.
Mr. Day’s dedication extends to his professional membership with the National Small Business Association. Civically invested, he has served as a board member for the Manassas Board of Equalization since 2019 and partners with corporations and nonprofits to provide educational content for small business owners on financial management.
Mr. Day’s commitment to financial education is evident through his creation of the collegiate course “Small Business Credit Procedures©,” designed to educate entrepreneurs majoring in entrepreneurial programs at universities and colleges. His publications include “The Negotiating Experience: Your Car Deal Your Way!” in 2011 and “Mastering the Business Credit Maze: Build Business Credit Like BIG Corporations Do!” in 2014, among others.
Inspired by his mother’s entrepreneurial spirit, which he witnessed growing up in Mississippi, Mr. Day continues to drive forward with ambitious goals for the future. He envisions building a coalition of business educators to support small businesses and aims to establish a financial technology bank dedicated solely to their growth. Through these initiatives, Mr. Day seeks not only to enhance individual companies but also to make a positive contribution to the broader economy.
