Jamie A. Ferguson, Proprietor at Power Line Products LLC and Angledolly.com, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements and leadership in the Energy Industry.

Mr. Ferguson has established a distinguished career in the power utility industry, marked by innovation, resilience and a commitment to safety. Since 2016, he has served as the proprietor of Power Line Products LLC, where he is actively engaged in working on power lines, monitoring potential patent infringements and promoting his business. In this capacity, Mr. Ferguson leverages his extensive field experience to develop and market products that enhance safety and efficiency for linemen. He is particularly focused on gathering information about companies that may be infringing on his patents, including tracking their product offerings and sales figures.

In addition to his commitment to Power Line Products LLC, Mr. Ferguson has been the proprietor of Angledolly.com since 2016. Through this venture, he introduced a specialized tool designed to prevent injuries by eliminating the need for workers to hold the dolly while pulling conductors. This invention is lauded for a significant advancement in workplace safety for the power line industry. As the owner and innovator behind Angledolly.com, Mr. Ferguson continues to promote this product and educate industry professionals about its benefits.

Before pivoting into entrepreneurship, Mr. Ferguson built a remarkable reputation as a lineman for 30 years, accumulating over 77,000 hours of service and averaging nearly 50 hours per week between 1990 and 2020. He began his career with Quanta Services when the company had only 250 employees. Today, it stands as one of the largest utility construction firms globally, with $40 million in assets and a workforce of 15,000. During his tenure, Mr. Ferguson completed an intensive apprenticeship program that included comprehensive on-the-job training, ultimately earning a license as a lineman.

Throughout his career as a lineman, Mr. Ferguson was recognized as a frontline worker responsible for restoring power during storms and emergencies, positioning him as an essential first responder in critical situations. His work took him across the U.S. and internationally, where he achieved several industry milestones. Notably, Mr. Ferguson was among the first to utilize the proprietary LineMaster Robotic Arm capable of lifting all energized phases simultaneously. He also played a pioneering role in nuclear power plant operations by installing bypass jumpers on energized lines carrying between 345,000 and 500,000 volts, completing the first 28 evolutions of this type ever attempted worldwide.

Among other significant highlights during his tenure as a lineman, Mr. Ferguson’s career was documented in a YouTube video featuring his installation of implosion connectors for Northeast Utilities on high-voltage lines integral to the New England grid. This project involved working on energized lines at 345,000 volts, a first in the U.S., and addressed longstanding issues caused by conductor deterioration that dated back to 1969. Additionally, Mr. Ferguson was part of the inaugural team tasked with shipping equipment and establishing sites in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mr. Ferguson’s academic background included earning an associate degree in business administration and management from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2012. Returning to school later in life allowed him to excel in project management and improve his communication skills, which have proven invaluable throughout his entrepreneurial endeavors.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Ferguson is civically engaged as a donor to the Tango Style Club. He was notably recognized for his civic engagement in 2013 after winning a fundraising golf tournament.

Besides his aforementioned accomplishments as a lineman, Mr. Ferguson considers acquiring several patents, including a utility patent received in 2016, to be among his greatest professional achievements. These innovations have made significant contributions to workplace safety and productivity within the power line sector. Looking ahead, Mr. Ferguson aims to market the Angle Dolly tool widely within the power line construction industry to enhance productivity and safety for workers involved in building power lines while continuing to pursue new personal goals.
