Before pivoting into entrepreneurship with The Eatery, Ms. Holdredge spent two years at Electric Boat, where she contributed to the construction of submarines and related projects. This role marked a significant shift from her long-standing career in hospitality, offering her valuable experience in a different industry and providing enhanced job security and benefits during a period of economic uncertainty.

Before joining Electric Boat, Ms. Holdredge worked as a bartender at the Westerly Yacht Club. Her time there not only honed her customer service skills but also played a pivotal role in shaping her journey into business ownership. It was during Ms. Holdredge’s tenure at the yacht club that a conversation with a member led to the opportunity to acquire what would become The Eatery.

Ms. Holdredge’s professional journey began at age 14, marking the start of more than 25 years in the restaurant industry. She spent 15 years working at a college Subway location and gained additional experience at various restaurants and an exclusive golf club known as The Preserve. Ms. Holdredge’s early start and sustained dedication to hospitality remain among her proudest achievements.

After graduating from high school, Ms. Holdredge completed coursework toward a nursing degree, which provided foundational skills that have supported her adaptability and resilience across several industries.

In addition to her business endeavors, Ms. Holdredge has been involved in creative projects, including Rise and Shine. She credits much of her success to the support of her husband, whom she met over a decade ago. Their partnership has been instrumental in transforming both her personal life and professional trajectory. Additionally, Ms. Holdredge acknowledges the contributions of her family, including her two daughters, who are actively involved in the business, while her son assists as needed, creating a collaborative environment that extends beyond the workplace.

Born in Westerly, the very same town where The Eatery is located, Ms. Holdredge values time spent with family and friends, as well as her loyal customers. Looking ahead, she envisions expanding The Eatery’s offerings by exploring ventures, such as operating a food truck during the summer months and introducing grab-and-go options for customers. She remains dedicated to growing her business while maintaining its community-focused spirit and aims to achieve greater recognition within the industry.
