His pioneering system, first patented in Argentina in 1995, was notable for its accessibility and ease of installation, requiring no technical expertise. This innovation enabled homes built after 1975 to enjoy high-quality scent diffusion, a milestone that set his business apart.
After relocating to the U.S. in 2003 with limited resources following Argentina’s economic crisis, Mr. Zelicovich rebuilt his enterprise from the ground up. Starting as a dishwasher in South Beach, Miami, Florida, he expanded Doctor Aromas to employ nearly 30 staff members and supply fragrances to more than 100,000 homes each month, as well as to over 700 high-end buildings in Miami. The company’s reach now extends internationally, serving clients in Mexico and Monte Carlo.
Before his entrepreneurial success, Mr. Zelicovich served as a Jewish community director after completing three years of college coursework in Israel. His work focused on education and community engagement rather than business pursuits. However, when economic hardship struck his family in Argentina, he made the difficult decision to step down from his role to support his father’s business. This transition marked the beginning of Mr. Zelicovich’s path toward entrepreneurship and innovation.
In addition to Mr. Zelicovich’s studies in Israel, he completed two additional years of college coursework in psychology before pausing his academic pursuits to assist his family during challenging times. Today, he remains an active member of the Argentinian Jewish Community in Miami, reflecting his ongoing commitment to civic engagement and cultural heritage.
In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Zelicovich received the prestigious Best Formula of the Year award from the Southeastern Aerosol and Technology Association in 2024, joining previous honorees, such as Lysol and Procter & Gamble. His expertise in creative development has also been widely recognized through numerous podcasts and interviews, including those from Latin sources. Mr. Zelicovich frequently shares insights about achieving the American dream, emphasizing perseverance, innovation and the ability to succeed regardless of language barriers or initial resources.
Mr. Zelicovich credits much of his success to the unwavering support of his wife, whose partnership enabled him to focus on developing fragrances and systems while she managed their household and their son’s education.
Committed to advancing happiness through scent technology, Mr. Zelicovich believes that fragrance can evoke comfort and peace at home. In collaboration with Cosmo International Fragrances, he is developing Everspray technology for global introduction at a beauty salon in Dubai, a project poised to offer new opportunities within the aerosol industry.
