In addition to her professional pursuits, Ms. Nye is civically engaged as a member of the Parent Teacher Association at a local school and as a donor within the local community. Throughout her career, Ms. Nye has been recognized for her independence, perseverance and goal-oriented approach. She takes pride in accomplishing objectives through determination and resourcefulness, rarely seeking assistance and always striving to achieve what she sets out to do. Ms. Nye’s passion for the field is evident in her commitment to empowering families and advocating for informed consent.

Looking ahead, Ms. Nye is committed to fostering community connections both professionally and personally. She remains focused on growing her business and will be teaching a course in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Connecticut during the fall semester of 2026. Ms. Nye also plans to acquire land or establish a state park that will serve as a community space for children and adults, a place where individuals can gather, appreciate nature and benefit from integrated services that support learning and well-being. Furthermore, she aims to take on advocacy roles within state or national speech therapy organizations, confident in her ability to address challenging issues constructively.
