Mr. Frost, currently semi-retired, has served as the owner of Starr Business Services, Inc., based in upstate New York, since 2004. In this capacity, he works with a select group of clients, focusing on developing exceptional leaders and guiding organizations through periods of transition, problem-solving and improvement. Mr. Frost’s expertise extends to coaching executives and nonprofit organizations such as churches, schools, youth sports and community service groups. He also oversees peer advisory groups for C-suite executives in technology, health care and manufacturing, leads strategic planning, including mergers and acquisitions, and manages change management and training projects that support global enterprise resource planning, supply chain and manufacturing processes.
Leveraging his expertise, Mr. Frost’s early work with Starr Business Services, Inc., closely mirrored his experience at General Motors (GM), emphasizing the use of technology to enhance quality and productivity in manufacturing. Over time, he shifted his focus to people development within organizations, recognizing that effective technology implementation depends on skilled individuals.
From 2015 to 2018, Mr. Frost simultaneously chaired Vistage Worldwide, Inc., a global organization of chief executive officers with more than 20,000 members and 850 chairs, in the Buffalo-Niagara region of New York. In 2014 and 2015, he was the general manager at MacLean Curtis LLC in the Buffalo-Niagara area. He oversaw operations during a period of significant change, applying his expertise in strategic planning and organizational development to improve productivity and workplace culture. Between 2009 and 2014, Mr. Frost worked as a consulting coach for Buffalo Operations at Curtis Screw Co. LLC, responsible for enterprise turnaround.
Mr. Frost also contributed to higher education as an adjunct professor at Medaille College in Buffalo, New York, from 2004 to 2012. During 2005 and 2006, he also consulted with Insyte Consulting, where he advised small and medium-sized manufacturers on sales and team development.
Most notably, Mr. Frost spent more than three decades in the manufacturing sector with GM and its subsidiaries. From 2000 to 2003, he served as the information technology director at Delphi Automotive Systems, a former GM division, where he led major technology initiatives supporting global operations. He also worked for the company as the director of production control and logistics, a site manager, a plant manager and a quality director. Among Mr. Frost’s most notable accomplishments during this period was leading organizational change and training for the enterprise resource planning system implementation, building a high-performing team capable of executing complex transformations across plants and divisions, resulting in significant organizational success.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Frost served as the superintendent of manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and tooling at American Axle from 1978 to 1988, gaining foundational experience in plant operations. He has also provided pro bono executive coaching to nonprofit leaders navigating organizational challenges throughout his career.
Mr. Frost’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Kettering University, formerly General Motors Institute, completed in 1977, and a Master of Science in electrical engineering with a concentration in computer control from Stanford University, earned in 1978. He has further enhanced his professional qualifications through certifications, including a Six Sigma green belt.
Civically engaged throughout his life, Mr. Frost has served as a small group leader at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church since 2009, where he continues to mentor others in personal growth and leadership development. He is also an active member of Christian Business Leaders within his local church community, where he shares insights on ethical business practices rooted in faith-based principles. Earlier, Mr. Frost spent 25 years coaching youth soccer with Clarence Soccer, where he was instrumental in developing character among young athletes. Mr. Frost’s civic contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Lion of Judah Award, presented by his church in 2018, for exemplary leadership in the men’s group.
Throughout his career, Mr. Frost has developed recognized expertise in entrepreneurship, leadership and development, achievements that reflect his commitment to fostering growth in others, both professionally and personally. He attributes much of his success to the values instilled by his parents and the training and experience he gained at GM, which were pivotal in shaping his career path.
Mr. Frost is eager for future endeavors. He is dedicated to giving back through continued involvement with family business endeavors, church activities and community service. He is especially excited to help his oldest son start a business.
