Jeff Kervin, Owner and Certified Arborist at Kervin Bros. Stump & Tree Co., LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Tree Care and Removal.

Mr. Kervin has established a distinguished career as a certified arborist and the owner of Kervin Bros. Stump & Tree Co., LLC, a business he founded in 1996 in North Augusta, South Carolina. Over the past 30 years, he has become recognized for his expertise in consulting, tree care, tree removal and stump removal.

At the helm of his company, Mr. Kervin’s daily responsibilities include reviewing schedules and assessing priorities, evaluating job requirements to select appropriate equipment, inspecting tools and machinery for maintenance needs, and preparing crews for the day’s tasks. Also known for conducting thorough site evaluations, he leads safety meetings and executes work plans collaboratively with his team. Throughout each project, Mr. Kervin responds to client calls, coordinates service requests and builds lasting relationships with repeat customers.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kervin has prioritized building trust within the community over financial gain. He is most proud of the reputation he has cultivated, one marked by honesty, integrity and a commitment to quality work. As a leader in the industry, many of his consultations with clients result in thoughtful conversations. Mr. Kervin empowers customers to make informed decisions about their trees, respecting sentimental attachments and only recommending removal when necessary. This philosophy has resulted in a steady stream of projects, a loyal client base and referrals that appreciate his transparent approach.

Mr. Kervin’s educational path began after high school when he enrolled in college. However, he soon realized it was not the right fit for him. Instead, he became a firefighter and emergency medical technician, working approximately 10 days per month while seeking additional income opportunities. Recognizing a gap in the market during the late 1990s, when many tree companies did not own stump grinders, Mr. Kervin invested in this equipment and began offering stump grinding services. As demand grew for comprehensive tree care solutions, he expanded into full-scale tree removal operations. Mr. Kervin has since earned certification as an arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture in 2020, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

Active in his professional community, Mr. Kervin is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture and the Georgia Arborist Association, reflecting his ongoing commitment to industry standards and professional development. Beyond his business endeavors, he is civically engaged as a volunteer at Sweetwater Church. Mr. Kervin is also active as a sponsor for Little League sports teams and local recreation departments, demonstrating his dedication to supporting youth activities and community well-being.

A defining moment in Mr. Kervin’s professional journey occurred a little over five years ago when he was under contract with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, a partnership that spanned 15 years. During this period, a federal grant enabled a significant interstate clearing project along Interstate 20. Entrusted with substantial responsibilities, Mr. Kervin collaborated closely with department officials to outline an effective process that adhered to state bidding requirements. His team completed the ambitious task of clearing 21 miles of median in just 45 days, half the allotted time, by employing innovative methods that later gained national recognition at the National Highway Safety Transportation Conference in Maryland. The approach pioneered by Mr. Kervin and his team was subsequently adopted across the United States, setting a new standard for highway vegetation management.

Mr. Kervin’s professional achievements have been recognized beyond his local community. In 2025, he was featured in “Life & Work with Jeff Kervin of North Augusta, South Carolina” by Voyage South Carolina Magazine. Mr. Kervin attributes his success to a steadfast commitment to quality work and honesty rather than financial incentives. His guiding principle is to exceed expectations without overcommitting, always striving to leave clients better off than when he first encountered them.

Looking ahead, Mr. Kervin aims to continue providing high-quality service to his community while maintaining the standards that have defined his career thus far. He reflects on past accomplishments with pride and remains open to future opportunities that may arise through significant projects or contracts, always guided by integrity and dedication to those he serves.
