This acquisition enabled i3 Federal to assemble and deliver advanced medical carts and mobile systems throughout hospitals, further diversifying its offerings. Recognizing shifts in the technological landscape, Mr. De Money guided the company to prioritize data analytics as a core focus a little over five years ago. Today, data analytics accounts for the majority of i3 Federal’s revenue.
Before his tenure at i3 Federal, Mr. De Money served as the director of the advanced cyber laboratory at SRI International in Arlington, Virginia, from 2000 to 2013. In this capacity, he established and managed cutting-edge cybersecurity research initiatives at one of the nation’s leading nonprofit research organizations. Mr. De Money’s work at SRI International contributed significantly to advances in cyber defense capabilities for both public- and private-sector clients.
Mr. De Money’s professional journey began with three decades of service as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. Throughout his 30-year military career, he developed expertise that would later inform his leadership roles in both research and industry.
Mr. De Money’s academic background reflects a dedication to national security and policy studies. He completed a bachelor’s degree at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, in 1969. He later graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1978, earning a degree in national security affairs with a focus on Middle East studies, with distinction. Mr. De Money was selected as a congressional fellow at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in 1990 and participated in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI program as a fellow in 1991. In 1993, Mr. Jones was also named a national security fellow at Harvard Kennedy School.
