In 2013, Ms. Dhakal established her first salon, Eyebrow Art by Sonu, in Taylorsville, Utah. Her entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of a second location in 2020. Specializing primarily in eyebrow threading, using cotton threads to expertly shape clients’ eyebrows by removing excess hair, Ms. Dhakal has dedicated nearly a decade to perfecting this technique and has since expanded her services to include facials, tinting and eyelash extensions. As an expert in her field, she offers services for eyebrows, sideburns, foreheads, upper lips, chins and other areas of the face and neck, as well as eyebrow tinting, facials and eyelash extensions. Ms. Dhakal takes pride in her business, where she strives to help every client look and feel their best.
Educated in Nepal, Ms. Dhakal’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree. Furthering her expertise, she earned an esthetician license after completing 800 hours of study and passing rigorous examinations. This qualification enabled Ms. Dhakal to expand her business offerings significantly to include additional beauty services. Her dedication to continuous learning is evident as she actively pursues additional training and certifications to enhance her skills further.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Dhakal is actively involved with civic-minded organizations, such as the Nepalese Association of Utah, which is a social organization comprised of native Nepalese members residing within the state. She also volunteers and engages with local Nepalese communities and supports Nepali and Hindu temples. These affiliations underscore Ms. Dhakal’s commitment to giving back and fostering connections within her cultural heritage.
