The restaurant stands out as the first Salvadoran establishment in Wilson, featuring a unique program allowing customers to purchase meals for others in need. This initiative reflects Ms. Jimenez’s commitment to community support and inclusion.
Open daily, Sabor Salvadoreno specializes in preparing homemade meals, inspired by their home country of El Salvador. Thanks to the help of Ms. Jimenez’s mother, who excelled in making pupusas, a traditional dish from her country, she and her husband continue to thrive as a local leader in the restaurant industry. Unlike their earlier experience managing a restaurant alone in Florida, having family nearby has been instrumental in achieving stability and growth.
Before the launch of Sabor Salvadreno, Ms. Jimenez co-founded S&E Lawn Services in Pensacola, Florida, in 2021 alongside her husband. While pursuing her high school diploma full-time, she assisted her husband, who was recovering from a knee injury, by helping manage properties and handle customer communications. Their efforts began by offering lawn care services to neighbors and gradually expanded through positive word of mouth within the Pensacola community. Today, Ms. Jimenez continues to oversee operations of both businesses while traveling between Florida and North Carolina as needed.
In addition to her professional commitments, Ms. Jimenez is involved with Wilson Word of Mouth. Based in Wilson, it serves as a civic-minded organization that supports local businesses through community engagement and networking opportunities.
Through perseverance, adaptability and an unwavering commitment to family values, Ms. Jimenez has established herself as a respected leader among business owners in both the food service and landscaping industries. She is most proud of building two businesses from the ground up with her husband, one starting as a small food truck and the other evolving from a modest lawn care venture into an award-winning company.
Ms. Jimenez credits much of this success to the unwavering support of her family. Notably, these achievements are due in part to the resilience developed through her experiences as an immigrant from El Salvador. Arriving in the U.S. at a young age without knowledge of English, she faced such obstacles as language barriers and cultural adaptation. However, her father encouraged her independence, fostering a strong sense of responsibility from an early age. These formative experiences shaped Ms. Jimenez’s drive to continually improve herself and assist those around her.
Recognition for Ms. Jimenez’s contributions as a business owner included receiving accolades for excellence in landscaping services. As S&E Lawn Services grew, she and her husband were honored with awards such as Best of the Bay and Best of the Emerald Coast for Best Landscaping Company in 2024. Looking ahead, Ms. Jimenez remains dedicated to creating lasting security for both her parents and her husband’s parents by working toward their retirement.
