With nearly 30 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Turley has excelled as owner of Savage Fitness since 2022 and co-founder of RT-Plumbing LLC since 1994. Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Turley pursued an education at Fort Hays State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in general psychology in 2002 and a Master of Liberal Arts in organizational leadership in 2005. He continued his studies at Northcentral University, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in public administration in 2017 and a doctorate in business administration and human resource management, with honors, in 2022. He holds certifications in corrective fitness, geriatric fitness, group fitness, as an elite master fitness trainer, and in health and wellness.
In his role, Dr. Turley provides corrective fitness, assessing clients through movement and detects deficiency patterns that can lead to muscle imbalances and potential injuries in the future. Based on that analysis, he prescribes exercise modifications to avoid the potential of triggering an injury. He also engages with clients as they work to grow rehabilitative strength and conditioning.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Turley has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He volunteers at his father’s plumbing business, which gives free plumbing services and significant discount rates for economically disadvantaged people. In addition to his primary vocation, he remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society and the National Honor Society of Business and Leadership.
Dr. Turley attributes his success to time management, discipline, and sacrifice. He became involved in his profession after getting licensed in 2017 with the International Sports Science Association. After receiving a personal fitness training license, he decided to specialize in multiple concentrations. One of his notable accomplishments was the completion of his doctoral dissertation, in which his research focused on burnout among full-time university faculty by examining the impact of years of teaching experience on their burnout levels and work engagement behaviors. In the immediate future, he aims to open his own gym in Scott City, Kansas, and expand his online business worldwide to train college, professional, and elite athletes remotely.
