She established herself as an associate professor at Mt. San Jacinto College from 1984 to 2000.
Ms. Scarborough continued her career at the Menifee Valley Medical Center, where she was active as director of emergency and critical care services from 1989 to 1998 and project manager for hospital services from 1990 to 1992. She has served as house supervisor of the Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital since 1991. At Riverside County Regional Medical Center, she garnered a stellar reputation as house supervisor and director of emergency and trauma services from 2000 to 2002.
Ms. Scarborough was recruited at Mt. San Jacinto College as an associate professor for the nursing program from 2000 to 2014. She served as chief executive officer of Serenity Homes from 2006 to 2010 before transitioning to the role of house supervisor of San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital from 2011 to 2023. She maintained her involvement with Serenity Travel Services as chief executive officer and C.E. provider for the California Board of Registered Nurses since 2017.
Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Scarbrough pursued an education at the California Hospital Medical Center, where she completed the diploma program. She concluded her studies at Los Angeles City College, accruing the certification credentials of a registered nurse in 1980. She is certified as a continued education provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Scarbrough has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She held the role of executive director of the Sun City Chamber of Commerce, founding board member and first president of the Emergency Nurses Association of the Inland Empire, and board member of the local chamber of commerce. In the immediate future, she intends to expand her company and finish her law degree.
