Ekué G. Pierre Kpodar, international consultant in economics, finance, and development, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
With nearly four and a half decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Kpodar has built a successful career in finance, specializing in international economics, macroeconomics, finance, government economics, central banking, and commercial bank supervision. Since 2015, he has excelled as an international consultant in economics, finance, and development while serving as an independent certified coach, teacher, and speaker. His previous roles include deputy division and mission chief at the International Monetary Fund from 2012 to 2015, resident representative at the IMF from 2009 to 2012, and head of mission and deputy division chief from 2002 to 2009. He also served as senior economist at the IMF from 1998 to 2002, deputy director at the Central Bank of West African States from 1996 to 1998, economist at the IMF from 1992 to 1996, and economist and division chief at the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) from 1980 to 1992. He was also a candidate for president of Togo in 2020 and served as the IMF resident representative in Cameroon from 2009 to 2012. He is the founder of Renaissance Togo, an organization focused on the development and growth of his home country. In recognition of his impressive achievements, he received the Department Award from the IMF in 2014 and served as an officer in the Central African Republic.
Laying a solid educational foundation for his successes, Dr. Kpodar earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lomé in 1978, a Diplôme d’Études Supérieures in money, banking, and finance from the West African Center for Studies in Banking in 1980, and a postgraduate degree in development economics and macroeconomics from Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal, in 1984. He also holds a financial programming certificate from the International Monetary Fund Institute in Washington, DC, and is an independent certified coach. He attributes his success to his humble beginnings, determination, hard work, ambition, and commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth. In the coming years, he is enthusiastic about authoring a book focused on economic institutions and good governance in Africa. He is also committed to returning to his home country in 2030 to provide sustenance and support to the people of Togo. Additionally, he plans to continue managing his small businesses and is open to taking on more consulting work.
