His team includes several directors, managing around 500 employees in a 210,000-square-foot facility producing boats under four brands. He was director of operational excellence at Malibu Boats Inc. in 2021 and vice president of operations at MJM Yachts from 2020 to 2021, and at Hatteras Yachts from 2019 to 2020, where he also served as director of production, quality, and customer service from 2016 to 2018.
Mr. Saloom also held several roles with Volvo Group Trucks Operations, including director of manufacturing operations from 2015 to 2016, director of safety, quality, environment, and Volvo production system from 2012 to 2015, quality group manager and VPS coach from 2010 to 2012, production quality team manager from 2008 to 2010, and engine test and paint shop supervisor from 2005 to 2008. He is also a board member of the Center for Sportfishing Policy since 2023 and has served on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, in addition to participating in Leadership Washington County from 2014 to 2015.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Saloom has received numerous awards, including the Volvo Group Safety Award in 2016, the Volvo Group Environmental Award in 2015, the Superior Energy Performance Award from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2015, and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce Going Green Award in 2015. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a master’s degree in lean production from Gifu University in 2015, completed coursework in business administration at Hagerstown Community College from 2008 to 2009, and executive education in leadership and management at the University of Notre Dame from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, he holds certifications in Six Sigma from Villanova University from 2010 to 2011, advanced marine vessel power and service management from the American Marine Institute from 1995 to 1996, and lean management from Shinka.
