Cody J. Arvidson, PhD, coach, editor, statistician, and researcher at Degree Solutions Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.
With nearly two decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Arvidson has established a successful career in higher education. He currently leads as chief financial officer and partner of Rogue Athletics, a role she’s held since 2013, and serves as founder and president of The Dissertation Institute, established in 2009. Since 2005, she has also excelled as a coach, editor, statistician, and researcher at Degree Solutions Group LLC, where she became chief executive officer and founder in 2004. Her experience includes roles on dissertation committees at Capella University and InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico, Metropolitan Campus, from 2015 to 2016, adjunct professor in psychology at the University of Richmond’s Richland Campus from 2006 to 2011, human services and education at the University of North Texas at Dallas from 2008 to 2011, and leadership at Dallas Baptist University from 2004 to 2008. Her earlier roles include learning specialist at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth from 2007 to 2008 and orientation coordinator at the University of Texas at Dallas from 1999 to 2000.
Dr. Arvidson has been an active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Association for the Study of Higher Education, and the American Psychological Association. She served as president of Offstage Theatre of RHS from 2013 to 2014, was a committee member at Capella University from 2011 to 2012, and volunteers with an animal rescue organization. In light of her impressive undertakings, she received the Best Paper Award in the Healthcare Education Track from the Healthcare Administrators Association in 2008 and the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Association for the Study of Higher Education in 2005. She laid a solid academic foundation, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in math and management from the University of West Florida in 1991, a Master of Science in educational administration from Texas A&M University in 1993, and a Master of Science in counseling psychology from the University of Kansas in 1997. She went on to complete her PhD in higher education at the University of North Texas in 2004. Additionally, she holds certifications as a certified personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise, a certified career coach from Fowler-Wainwright International Institute of Professional Coaching, a certified neuro-linguistic programming coach, and a certified professional coach.
Reflecting on her path, Dr. Arvidson initially considered being a psychologist but was pushed into another direction where she ended up teaching and helping others in their career and takes great pride in coaching and teaching students to reach their full potential. She attributes her success to authenticity, patience and caring deeply for her clients. In the coming years, she intends to continue writing and also wants to promote the Dissertation Institute to help people with their proposals and dissertations. She also aims to deepen her expertise in positive psychology, a field she has been passionate about since beginning her counseling psychology studies in the mid-1990s. Despite encountering skepticism from her professors at that time, she has continued to believe in the transformative power of positive psychology. Her goal is to leverage this perspective to help people achieve their goals and overcome challenges more effectively.
