Christopher Parlyn Dickhute, freelance videographer at Piece of Cake Video LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in videography.
With a decade and a half of experience, Mr. Dickhute has built a successful career as an entrepreneur, currently excelling as the owner and freelance videographer of Piece of Cake Video LLC, established in 2012. His responsibilities encompass networking, attending forums, and staying informed on governmental activities through regular interactions with figures from state senators to local leaders like the mayor. His previous roles include editor with One Zero Digital Media from 2015 to 2016, technology assistant at Chapman University from 2013 to 2015, telephone interviewer for Gallup Inc. from 2011 to 2012, and sales associate with Aspen Athletic Club and Genesis Health Clubs in 2011. Additionally, he actively contributes to community service, serving in the National Honor Society since 2006, as chair of the Lower Alabama Young Professionals with the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, and as a long-time volunteer with organizations like Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Dickhute was awarded the FACHEX Full Tuition Scholarship at Seattle University in 2006 and has received accolades such as Best of Baldwin by Gulf Coast Media for Best Photography and Best Real Estate Photography. His passion for video production was ignited early on, creating skits with friends using camcorders, which grew into a love for storytelling through film. His strong writing abilities led him into journalism, where he realized the power of video in enhancing narratives. Recording news segments and events in Seattle further solidified his dedication to film. After graduating in 2010 with an uncertain career path, he pursued film studies to deepen his understanding of cinematic artistry. Embracing his own initiative, he founded Piece of Cake Video LLC, creating its layered cake logo as a reminder that opportunities can indeed be as attainable as a “piece of cake.”
Mr. Dickhute laid a solid educational foundation with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Seattle University in 2010 and a master’s degree in film production with an emphasis in editing from Chapman University in 2015. He is also professionally certified in Avid Media Composer. He takes great pride in earning his Master of Fine Arts in editing, where he developed a deep passion for storytelling and significantly advanced his skills in narrative construction through an online challenge. He attributes much of his success to his ability to communicate effectively and build connections. In the coming years, he aims to expand his business by hiring full-time employees and producing more feature films. Driven by his passion for travel, he aspires to explore travel photography or blogging and is also dedicated to mentoring his team to manage the business effectively, allowing him to focus on establishing lasting client relationships and furthering his creative pursuits.
