A leader in the industry for over 15 years, she began as an associate broker at Wilkie Real Estate Inc. from 2007 to 2011, then as a broker at Coldwell Banker Advantage: Lake Gaston between 2011 and 2016.
Experienced in residential and commercial real estate sales and rentals, Ms. Hedgepeth specializes in vacation rentals through Lake Gaston Celebrations Rental Homes, helping couples and families secure their next adventure. Before pivoting into real estate, Ms. Hedgepeth was an entrepreneur as a franchise owner and distributor for Tupperware from 1988 to 1997. She joined the organization as a salesperson in 1977 before advancing to a unit manager between 1977 and 1986. Her tenure as a distributor was significant because she was able to invest in Ocean Park properties, setting her up for future success in real estate. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hedgepeth was instrumental in the classroom as a high school English teacher in North Town, Virginia, from 1968 to 1973.
Ms. Hedgepeth graduated from Southampton High School as the salutatorian of her graduating class in 1965. Subsequently, he received a Bachelor of Science in secondary education, English and journalism from Radford University in Radford, Virginia, in 1965. Highly qualified in her field, Ms. Hedgepeth garnered credentials as a licensed real estate agent and broker and as an accredited buyer’s representative through Coldwell Banker Advantage Lake Gaston.
Active in her professional community, Ms. Hedgepeth is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the North Carolina Realtors, the Roanoke Valley Lake Gaston Board of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service. From 2008 to 2015, she served as the director of the Lake Gaston Association, a citizens’ organization that advocates and promotes the interests of residents and businesses with properties throughout Lake Gaston.
As a leader in her community, Ms. Hedgepeth is actively engaged with the Lake Gaston Computer Club and the Lake Gaston Baptist Church. She also garnered success as a membership chair and board of directors member of the Lake Gaston Water Safety Council from 2005 to 2016.
In 1969, during her inaugural year in education, Ms. Hedgepeth was recognized as the Young Teacher of the Year. She credits her early and continued success to her discipline, positivity, focus, and proactive approach to seeking opportunities.
Ms. Hedgepeth remains dedicated to continuing her legacy in her field and actively serving the community. She also plans to acquire a manager to help support her business, ensuring its sustained value to the community and enabling her to be more accessible to her clients.
