Before launching Terry’s 5-Star Yacht Services LLC, Mr. Stoupa was a licensed yacht broker for Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales in Stuart, Florida, from 2012 to 2016 and a professional yacht broker for Seattle Yachts in Seattle and Anacortes between 2016 and 2017. Mr. Stoupa’s ongoing success results from his passion for his industry and steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional value.
Pivoting into this sector, Mr. Stoupa worked in the nonprofit sector as the executive director and director of development at the Samaritan Center for Young Boys and Families in Stuart from 2001 to 2011. He also garnered success as the founding executive vice president of sales and marketing at Cellgate Technologies LLC in Boca Raton, Florida, between 1998 and 2000 and was a founding national sales manager at ETC/SCAN, Deluxe Payment Protection Systems, eFUNDS, in Bothell, Washington, from 1986 to 1999.
Mr. Stoupa graduated from Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, Washington, in 1968 with an Associate of Arts in English language and literature. Subsequently, he received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in education from Western Washington University in Bellingham in 1972. In addition to his degrees, Mr. Stoupa became highly qualified in the boating sector as a licensed yacht broker.
When he is not busy caring for his clients’ boats, Mr. Stoupa has succeeded as the operator of a gold and silver refinery in Australia. He has also found tremendous joy in writing. In 2015, his expertise in yachting led to the authorship of “First Look: 2015 Voyage 480 Catamaran by a Life-Long ‘Mono-huller’ on a Bucket-List Trip to the BVI’s.” Mr. Stoupa is working on two books currently, which he aims to complete and publish soon. This initiative has been two decades in the making.
Mr. Stoupa’s free time has also included engaging in local community initiatives. Most notably, he joined a nonprofit organization in South Florida, where he was influential in helping it thrive despite its limited resources by establishing a board of directors and gaining support from prominent families and organizations. This opportunity reflects Mr. Stoupa’s desire to help others, especially children, and was immensely rewarding.
As he nears retirement, Mr. Stoupa continues to enjoy his active lifestyle, living aboard his boat in the Pacific Northwest. He reflects on his diverse career with admiration, giving him a unique perspective on life and the importance of having the freedom to do what he loves.
