With five decades of experience, Mr. Pauletto has built a distinguished career in contracting, specializing in dams, drilling, rock blasting, and processing aggregates. He has served as the owner of MPauletto and Associates LLC since 2006. In this role, he consults on dam projects across the western hemisphere, reviews plans and specifications, provides estimates, develops natural pozzolan as a sustainable alternative to fly ash in concrete, and teaches and mentors professionals in the heavy construction industry. His earlier experience includes over 30 years with Kiewit Company from 1974 to 2006. Laying a strong educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering and geology from Oregon State University. He is also working on a book titled “RCC: A Contractor’s View,” which focused on practical construction techniques and best practices for building roller-compacted concrete dams. The book will feature case studies and lessons learned from previous projects, offering real-world insights, and will also emphasize the environmental benefits and sustainability of RCC in modern dam construction.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Pauletto’s most notable achievement is receiving a prestigious award from Kiewit Company in 1997, recognizing his exemplary project management, including strong financial performance, high-quality standards, and a commitment to safety. He attributes his success to the values instilled by his parents, which shaped his life and research ethics, and to the lessons learned from his experience with key organizations. Looking to the future, he is dedicated to publishing his book to share industry knowledge with the next generation and mentoring students through presentations at two colleges to inspire careers in construction. He is also advancing two climate-focused initiatives, establishing a natural pozzolan plant and developing a renewable diesel plant. He advises aspiring professionals to cultivate diverse experiences and build strong networks, which he views as essential for career growth.
