Robert “Bob” Dudley, broker and owner at Matrix Real Estate Network, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in real estate.
Mr. Dudley is the founder of Matrix Real Estate Network, a role that began at the turn of the century, in 2000. However, his pathway in real estate began over a half-century ago following his return from serving in Vietnam as a platoon sergeant in the U.S. Army, when in 1973 he acquired a California real estate salesperson license as part of a plan to teach anthropology during the school year and sell real estate in the summer months. His passion for learning and the challenges of life manifested into a successful career that included farm & ranch sales, lending, mortgage banking, financial planning, contract drafting and negotiation, land development, building construction and architectural design. His managerial and leadership skills surfaced in 1978 when he rose to vice president of investments with Century Loan Corporation, funding $200,000,000 a year in mortgage-backed securities and further motivating him to acquire SEC / NASD Registered Series 6 & 22 licensing. In 1996, those SEC licenses were discontinued in order to accept the position of treasurer of publicly traded (CRMK) Cermetek Microelectronics, Inc., an experience that also opened the door to becoming vice president of Trilex Development Corporation. His desire to understand, create and contribute to business development has led to executive and board member positions to various corporations, such as American Timbercraft Log Homes, Inc. of Utah, LAD Development, LLC in Florida, BrakeSense Corp. in California, vice president of C.U.R.E., an international environmental mold awareness group, and the purchase/privatization of SPCE-Elektronmach Manufacturing facility in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Mr. Dudley has served for many years with the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors and is currently chairperson of their Grievance Committee. A combined sense of fund-raising civic duty and a love of classic cars has led to more than 25 years of volunteering and a position as field operations liaison with the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Dudley credits a life-long eagerness to learn more, even going beyond his university studies. He found that, even late in life, one can discover untapped abilities through focus and determination, making anything achievable. In the early 1990s, an invitation to live and work in Sierra Leone, West Africa to develop hospital and school facilities led to the opportunity to train and serve as a physician and surgeon, giving back to humanity in that civil war-torn region. Today, he is working with a physician-led group that is acquiring mini-storage facilities throughout the western United States as investment income vehicles to cover the cost of expanding the operation and staffing of hospitals within the African continent. The prospect of returning to Africa for such impactful work excites him, and he is eager to embrace the opportunity.
