Dedicated to shaping the future generation and leaving a legacy through her efforts, Ms. Smith has worked with thousands of soldiers throughout her career. Having honorably served her country for over 25 years, she retired from the U.S. Army as a strategic talent manager, human capital advisor and performance consultant in 2022. However, Ms. Smith’s most notable role was during her tenure as a battalion commander of the 82nd Airborne Division, where she oversaw the efforts of 600 soldiers while managing five companies concurrently.
Highly educated, Ms. Smith studied at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, where she received an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and sociology in 1997. Subsequently, she received a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant in 2006. Civically active, Ms. Smith has drawn personal reward through her volunteer efforts with Big Sister Little Sister and Girls Scouts of America and as a member of the Saint Louis Parish. She also remains active in the Adjutant General’s Corps. Highlighting her work ethic in the U.S. military, the U.S. Army decorated Ms. Smith with a Bronze Star Medal in 2011. She attributes her military and civilian success to her strong family support and dedication to serving others.
