Aurora J. Kitko

Title: Board Member
Company: Friends of Breakthrough Schools
Location: Aurora, Ohio

Aurora J. Kitko, board member of Friends of Breakthrough Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education and nonprofits.

Across the ten years of her professional life so far, Ms. Kitko has quickly built a reputation for hard work, compassion and altruism. Currently serving as a major market sales executive for Paycor Inc., she also devotes her time and energy to nonprofit pursuits as a board member of Friends of Breakthrough Schools since 2024. That latter role carries forward Ms. Kitko’s strong appreciation for the importance of education, as showcased in previous roles such as adjunct professor at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and Spanish teacher, mathematics teacher, and online school coordinator for IMG Academy. She also contributed for several years as a player development and education consultant for the Pittsburgh Pirates team with Major League Baseball. Ms. Kitko shifted her career away from education in 2021, becoming a resources recruitment consultant for Ryan Consulting Group LLC. Despite her success as a consultant and sales executive, she remains committed to giving back to her community through civic engagements like her work with Friends of Breakthrough Schools.

Deeply influenced by her experiences during her childhood, Ms. Kitko sought a strong education of her own, beginning with a high school diploma at the nationally acclaimed Solon City Schools in 2010, where she first discovered the value of learning and strong teachers who were invested in her success despite the obstacles in her path. In 2012, she completed coursework in Spanish language and culture at the Universidad Blas Pascal. Subsequently, Ms. Kitko earned a Bachelor of Arts in international business, economics and Spanish with a minor in mathematics from Muskingum University in 2014. She attributes her success to mentorship, faith, a strong academic life, and a commitment to helping improve the world by paying it forward. Through her position on the board with Friends of Breakthrough Schools, Ms. Kitko supports fundraising and advocacy for Breakthrough Public Schools, a Cleveland-based charter school network that operates in underserved communities. She firmly believes in the value of taking action rather than just criticizing problems from afar, and she views her work with Friends of Breakthrough Schools as a way of living her values.

Outside of her primary vocation, Ms. Kitko regularly engages with her community through baseball, a love instilled in her by her father. Her accomplishments include time as a coach for Ohio Hurricanes Premier Softball and an assistant softball coach for the Queen City Outlaws. Additionally, since 2023, Ms. Kitko has offered her services as the annual fund vice chair for the Junior League of Charlotte, a nonprofit focused on women’s leadership development. Looking to the future, she is eager to continue advancing in her career at Paycor Inc. while continuing to fight for causes she believes in. Ms. Kitko looks forward to stepping into greater roles of leadership and hopes to open her own business as well. She aspires to be recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business’ 40 Under 40 Awards as she continues dedicating herself to the city and community that she loves.
