Ms. Fitzgerald’s efforts have enhanced accuracy and efficiency through semiautomated and fully automated processes, helping the congregation become more proficient.

Before being named to her leading role as the director at Sun Valley Community Church, Ms. Fitzgerald was the accounts receivable coordinator from 2016 to 2018, where she was instrumental in ensuring policies and procedures were being followed and weekly reconciliation processes were accurate. Among other responsibilities, she managed donor contributions across five campuses and via online and through missions. Ms. Fitzgerald also held various other positions within the church, dating back to 2010. Her journey began as an SV Kids midweek teacher and evolved into roles such as SV Kids ministry coordinator and pastor’s administrative assistant.

In addition to her work at Sun Valley Community Church, Ms. Fitzgerald founded Bighorn Business Services LLC in 2022, serving as the company’s chief executive officer. Based in Gilbert, she provides an array of accounting and bookkeeping services to a diverse group of clients. Earlier, Ms. Fitzgerald was a rental real estate limited partner with Bighorn Properties LLC from 2005 to 2010.

Among other noteworthy roles, Ms. Fitzgerald gained valuable experience as an office manager at USA Bathing Solutions, between 2010 and 2013, accounts receivable manager at Tuff Shed in 2000, audit/business advisory senior at Arthur Andersen & Co. from 1998 to 2000, and benefits assistant at Kinder Morgan Company between 1995 and 1997.

Ms. Fitzgerald’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Colorado Denver in 1997 and a Master of Science in accounting from Liberty University in 2018. She also holds the certified nonprofit accounting professional designation from Nonprofit CPAs.

Ms. Fitzgerald’s commitment to professional development is reflected in her memberships with the Sage Intacct Nonprofit Customer Advisory Council, the Phoenix chapter of the Chief Financial Officer Leadership Council and the Institute of Management Accountants Inc. These affiliations have provided her with platforms to share insights and collaborate with peers.

Beyond her professional life, Ms. Fitzgerald is actively involved in civic organizations by volunteering as the girls’ volleyball booster club finance chair at Mesquite High School and with Midwest Food Bank.

Ms. Fitzgerald’s expertise in financial statement preparation, board reporting, payroll management, and other areas of the industry has been pivotal to her success. She attributes much of her success to her positive attitude and desire for continued education. Looking toward the immediate future, Ms. Fitzgerald intends to expand her expertise by pursuing designations such as certified public accountant and certified management accountant while exploring credentials in artificial intelligence. Balancing work with personal life remains a priority for her as she looks forward to future accomplishments.
