An esteemed entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Bissinger has carved a notable path in the catering and concessions industry. Since 1998, he has excelled as the owner of Bissinger’s Catering & Concessions, Inc., a position in which he manages food deliveries for private and public events, prepares fresh ingredients including locally sourced peaches and apples, rolls dough and crafts dumplings, and works long 15-to-16-hour days to ensure the company maintains their high quality of service. Alongside his team of employees, including his loving wife, Cheryl, and sometimes more than 20 others, Mr. Bissinger helps to provide exemplary concessions and catering services to fairs of all sizes, cementing their stellar reputation which enables growth and expansion in their field.

Mr. Bissinger began his career journey in 1996, at which point he ventured into the catering industry as the owner of an eponymous catering business that he officially incorporated two years later. As a testament to their professional excellence, they purchased a new concession trailer in 2023, allowing them to shift from the labor-intensive tent they would need to set up at every event to a more convenient and readymade process that makes traveling with the business much easier. With the trailer changing their approach to their business so significantly, Mr. Bissinger cites this acquisition as one of the highlights of his career thus far.

In addition to his primary endeavors, Mr. Bissinger has also found success as the owner of six rental properties. This diversification of professional interests showcases his acumen for identifying and capitalizing on various business opportunities. Moreover, his involvement with the Knights of Columbus further underscores his commitment to his community and personal development.

Before establishing Bissinger’s Catering & Concessions, Inc., Mr. Bissinger honed his skills in the construction industry. This experience provided him with a strong foundation in project management and teamwork, which he seamlessly integrated into his catering operations. His background on a farm also instilled in him a robust work ethic and an understanding of the importance of quality produce, which he applies to his culinary endeavors.

Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Bissinger pursued an education at Central Columbia High School in Pennsylvania, from which he graduated with a diploma. He has attributed much of his success to his hard work and his open-minded approach to change and innovation. This mindset has allowed him to adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving and frequently competitive landscape of the catering industry.

Mr. Bissinger’s dedication has not gone unnoticed; in 2019, he was recognized for the Best State Fair Food in Pennsylvania by Taste of Home Magazine. This accolade reflects his exceptional prowess in menu and concession curation and his unique ability to deliver remarkable food experiences at state fairs.

Beyond his professional activities, Mr. Bissinger remains involved in civic activities, including his volunteer efforts for several years at the local firemen’s carnival. This engagement shines a light on his dedication to giving back to the community that has always supported him.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Bissinger is contemplating retirement with aspirations for his son Austin to take over the family business. With two wonderful children, Austin and Tori, on the cusp of their own exciting journeys, he envisions a future where his legacy continues through their involvement and leadership in the business he has built from the ground up.
