Christopher R. Bennett, PE, vice president and regional business line leader at CES Consultants, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.

Across 25 years in both the public and private sectors, Mr. Bennett has established his credentials as a trusted expert in the world of engineering, with particular knowledge of water, sewer, roadway and drainage infrastructure. His career started in 2000 as a junior engineer with WHPacific Inc., where he focused on the transportation design division. Following that, Mr. Bennett was associated with Craven Thompson & Associates Inc. for 10 years as a senior engineer. In this role, he gained experience in land development engineering and construction.

In 2013, Mr. Bennett shifted into the public sector for the first time, becoming a project manager with the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Quickly recognized for his contributions, he was promoted to senior project manager and assistant city engineer over the next several years. After these initial experiences in the public sector, Mr. Bennett joined the city of Miami in 2019 as the assistant director and deputy chief resilience officer of the Department of Resilience and Public Works. He returned to Fort Lauderdale in 2022, accepting the position of assistant director of public works.

Following more than 10 years in public works, Mr. Bennett returned to the private sector in 2025. He now serves as vice president and regional business line leader at CES Consultants. This full-service engineering consultancy aids clients in construction planning, program management and more. Mr. Bennett’s responsibilities comprise managing budgets, exploring funding sources, pursuing grants and more. He plays a key part in building and maintaining relationships with clients and business partners of CES Consultants.

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Bennett sought a strong foundation in the academic realm. He first completed coursework in civil engineering at Northern Arizona University in 1996 and 1997. Subsequently, Mr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with a minor in mathematics from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2000. Dedicated to continuing growth, he has pursued a number of training opportunities. Mr. Bennett is certified as a stormwater operator through the Florida Stormwater Association and in the incident command and national incident management systems through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He is licensed as a professional engineer via the Florida Board of Professional Engineers.

Noted for his achievements in the field, Mr. Bennett has been given a variety of accolades. Most notably, he won the Stormwater Program Excellence Award from the Florida Stormwater Association in 2021. Related to that honor, Mr. Bennett has aided in the publication of multiple technical papers detailing the design and implementation of Miami’s stormwater plans. In addition to his professional concerns, he also supports numerous cancer organizations, having regularly donated to them in honor of his grandfather’s memory.

When he isn’t working, Mr. Bennett finds relaxation in hockey, skating, spending time with friends at the beach and traveling. As he moves forward, he is eager to continue growing in his return to the private sector with CES Consultants, while making wise use of the knowledge he gained from his years in public service. Mr. Bennett aims to prioritize high quality and ethical practices that can have a positive impact on the community, even within the private sector. He is committed to aiding CES clients and business partners in accomplishing meaningful projects guided by technical excellence.
