Building on 10 years of success in her field, Mrs. Holman specializes in male grooming. At the start of her professional journey, she gained experience in a salon that primarily focused on women, with just a few male clients. During this time, Mrs. Holman established her skills in the fundamentals of cosmetology, from hair coloring to wedding treatment. She excelled in the position and found herself looking for greater challenges.
In 2018, Mrs. Holman was encouraged by a colleague to pursue an opportunity at a men’s salon in Johns Creek, Georgia. She was initially hesitant but discovered an aptitude for this sector of the industry, including the ability to recognize gaps in service. Showcasing her leadership potential, Mrs. Holman stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic, taking on more work when co-workers with children had less flexibility. Across five years at this salon, she thrived in serving an exclusive, high-end clientele.
When new ownership took over the salon in 2023 and decided to shift business models in a way Mrs. Holman felt would compromise the quality of service, she took the opportunity to open her own business. Since then, she has owned and operated Hair by Abrianna Holman, a men’s salon offering everything from scissor cuts to beard trims to scalp rejuvenation treatments. Mrs. Holman oversees daily operations at the salon, managing client requests, tracking product orders, exploring new products, and running the company’s website, social network and marketing efforts. Additionally, she works directly with clients from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. four days a week.
Mrs. Holman’s performance in the field was born of her career training. She studied cosmetology at Gwinnett Technical College, earning her license. Mrs. Holman first fostered an interest in cosmetology in her youth, taking up makeup as a hobby. Inspired by that, she originally envisioned becoming a makeup artist for the film industry before gaining experience in salon work and discovering she had a passion for that aspect of cosmetology.
Among her career accomplishments, Mrs. Holman is particularly proud of being featured in “Shoutout Atlanta,” a magazine supporting independent artists and small businesses in the Atlanta area. She was honored to have Hair by Abrianna Holman highlighted in the magazine and is grateful for the increased recognition for the brand afterward. Mrs. Holman also recalls one noteworthy experience where a client appreciated the haircut he received from her so much that he ended up flying across states to return to her salon the next time he needed a cut. She takes great satisfaction in helping others feel good about how they look.
Outside of her professional achievements, Mrs. Holman is a devoted wife to her husband, Nicholas, whom she calls one of her greatest supporters, and a loving mother to her 3-year-old daughter, Adelaide. When she’s not working, she finds fulfillment in listening to live music, exploring new cities and spending time in nature, including gardening, hiking, walking trails and having picnics at the park. Driven by her success so far, Mrs. Holman looks forward to Hair by Abrianna Holman’s continued growth while also seeking ways to give back to the field through education. She hopes to find ways to support younger artists and stylists who are just getting their footing in the industry.
