Mr. Singh’s career is distinguished by a relentless pursuit of culinary excellence and a deep commitment to elevating the dining experience. Since 2025, he has served as the owner and chef of The Station Gastropub in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Under his direction, Mr. Singh’s restaurant opened with a soft launch in February 2025, focusing on refining operations and menu offerings before its grand opening in April of that year. Mr. Singh’s approach emphasizes operational efficiency and staff training, ensuring the kitchen remains manageable even during peak periods when serving large numbers of guests. His vision for The Station Gastropub centers on creating an inviting atmosphere where guests can savor innovative cuisine and memorable experiences.

Before launching The Station Gastropub, Mr. Singh embarked on his first entrepreneurial venture as the owner of a food truck in 2023. This step marked a significant milestone in his professional journey, allowing him to showcase his creativity and culinary skills independently. Mr. Singh views this transition from food truck operator to restaurant owner as a defining achievement, driven by his desire to serve the community with high-quality food.

Before establishing his own businesses, Mr. Singh built a robust foundation through various leadership roles in the culinary industry. He served as an executive chef at Parkers Dining and also held the position of executive chef at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. These roles enabled Mr. Singh to refine his management skills and further develop his expertise in combining food flavors and experimenting with unique flavor profiles.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Singh advanced from sous chef to head chef, gaining hands-on experience across diverse kitchens, including Italian, Mexican and fast-food establishments, such as McDonald’s. Each role contributed to his comprehensive understanding of different cuisines and operational styles.

Throughout more than 10 years in his profession, Mr. Singh has remained committed to personal growth and teamwork. He fosters an environment built on mutual respect by encouraging open dialogue within the kitchen and crediting team members with providing strong ideas.

Mr. Singh’s educational journey began at NSHM in India, where he completed a degree in culinary arts in 2015 after four years of study focused on various cuisines and classical techniques. Following graduation, he pursued an internship in Germany that took him through 20 different locations over six months. Immersion in European culinary culture deepened Mr. Singh’s appreciation for ingredients and broadened his perspective on global cuisine. This international experience continues to influence his work today.

Mr. Singh’s path into the culinary profession was shaped by an early fascination with chemistry and experimentation. He brings this scientific curiosity into every aspect of menu development, testing flavors over weeks until they are ready for presentation. Mr. Singh values simplicity over excess, believing that well-balanced dishes require thoughtful restraint rather than an abundance of ingredients.

A member of the local chamber of commerce, Mr. Singh is actively engaged with industry peers and the broader business community. His involvement reflects a commitment to continuous learning and collaboration within the field. Additionally, Mr. Singh is civically engaged through charitable efforts facilitated by his restaurant. He donates gift cards and provides support when needed within the community, a reflection of his belief in giving back through acts of kindness.

In light of his success, Mr. Singh won a Berkshire Eagle award. What has distinguished him has been his profound passion for food, which he regards as both art and therapy. He approaches each day in the kitchen with humility and curiosity, believing that every session offers new lessons regardless of prior knowledge or experience. Preferring silence while working, Mr. Singh finds inspiration in the focused engagement with ingredients, a practice that sets him apart from many contemporaries who thrive amid the bustle of traditional kitchens.

Mr. Singh’s expertise in combining food flavors, experimenting with new combinations and crafting distinctive flavor profiles has earned him recognition as an innovator in his field. His wife, Saphire Senger, has also played an integral role throughout his journey. They met while he was the head chef and she was a bartender and bar manager at the same restaurant. Her unwavering support, especially during financially challenging times when opening their food truck, has been instrumental to Mr. Singh’s success.

Looking ahead, Mr. Singh aspires to earn a Michelin star for The Station Gastropub, a goal that underscores his dedication to setting new standards rather than chasing accolades alone. He aims to distinguish his establishment through creative presentation and bold flavor combinations that attract both locals and visitors alike. Mr. Singh’s journey exemplifies perseverance, innovation, and heartfelt commitment to both craft and community, a legacy he continues to build each day at The Station Gastropub.
