Leon Haines, Owner at 603 Auto Glass LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the Automotive Glass Industry.
With a distinguished career spanning over 25 years, Mr. Haines has made a name for himself through his technical expertise and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. Since 2023, he has served as the owner of 603 Auto Glass LLC. Headquartered in Auburn, New Hampshire, Mr. Haines’s company specializes in all automotive glass needs, from windshield repair and replacement to vehicle mirror repair and safety system recalibrations.
In his leading role, Mr. Haines manages all aspects of the business, from ordering windshields and coordinating installations to traveling extensively throughout New Hampshire and into Massachusetts and Canada for specialized jobs. He is particularly known for his willingness to take on challenging projects that many competitors avoid, such as working on muscle cars and campers. These assignments often require a coordinated team effort and are typically performed at body shops with additional staff support.
Before launching 603 Auto Glass LLC, Mr. Haines spent over five years with Portland Glass, a Neighborly Company. During his tenure there, he benefited from the mentorship of several respected professionals. The experience he received at Portland Glass broadened his technical skills and deepened his understanding of the industry. However, following a change in company ownership that altered the organization’s direction, Mr. Haines decided to pursue independent entrepreneurship.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Haines spent several years at Safelite AutoGlass under the Safelite Group. His time at Safelite was marked by rigorous training that emphasized exceptional customer service, a principle that continues to guide him today.
Mr. Haines’s professional journey began in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he was introduced to auto glass work by his father and a family friend. Although initially hesitant due to witnessing the challenges faced by his father, including warranty issues and customer refunds, he embraced the trade after learning he would become a parent himself. This pivotal moment motivated Mr. Haines to seek stability and build a rewarding career in automotive glass.
With an educational background that reflects resilience amid adversity, Mr. Haines moved frequently during childhood due to Section 8 housing rates, having attended eight different schools across various grade levels in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Additionally, despite facing obstacles, such as undiagnosed ADHD and limited academic credits, he persevered. Since venturing into the auto glass sector, Mr. Haines received certification from the Auto Glass Safety Council, which underscored his commitment to safety standards and best practices in installation techniques.
Beyond professional pursuits, Mr. Haines is civically engaged as a mentor and shadow student with Pinkerton Academy. This opportunity allows him to contribute time and guidance to support young people entering skilled trades or exploring vocational pathways.
Throughout his career, Mr. Haines has earned notable recognition within the industry. During his first year at Safelite, he achieved a quality score of 97.4 and was runner-up for the Safelite Spirit Award for quality. Mr. Haines’s expertise has also been featured five times in Auto Glass Repair & Replacement Magazine, including an article titled “Dressing for Success: Technicians Share What Makes Their Uniforms Great.” Each feature is a source of pride for him, who finds these acknowledgments deeply moving and validating of his dedication to the industry.
Mr. Haines attributes much of his success to the foundational training received at Safeway and to personal qualities, such as authenticity and genuine care for others. He values even the most challenging customers and believes that treating everyone equally is essential, a perspective shaped by experiences with both hardship and achievement throughout his life.
Mr. Haines’s story is one of perseverance through adversity, technical mastery in a specialized field, and an enduring commitment to both family values and professional excellence within the automotive glass sector. Looking ahead, he aspires to expand his entrepreneurial footprint by establishing a franchise operation, an ambition encouraged by those who recognized his drive and potential early in his career.
