However, the following quarter saw revenue fall to $86 million due to widespread disruptions. With operating expenses reaching approximately $500 million over six weeks, Mr. Wheeler led efforts to identify $100 million in potential savings, double the initial target, while ensuring that these measures did not impede recovery or future growth. Amid leadership transitions at the executive level during this challenging time, he provided critical support to both interim and permanent leaders as they navigated unprecedented circumstances.
Between 2018 and 2020, Mr. Wheeler served as a senior vice president of accounting at Myriad Genetics Inc. His earlier tenure as the vice president and corporate controller from 2014 to 2018 involved managing core accounting operations for the organization’s expanding portfolio. Initially, Mr. Wheeler worked as a division controller beginning in 2011 during a period marked by mergers and acquisitions. Notably, Mr. Wheeler acted as a lower-level chief financial officer for a newly acquired division while supporting integration efforts across teams.

Early studies culminated in an associate’s degree in business management from Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City. Mr. Wheeler then earned a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Mr. Wheeler has also pursued advanced certifications that have contributed directly to his effectiveness as an executive leader. He completed the senior executive program at Columbia Business School Executive Education at Columbia University. He also received certifications in advanced financial statement analysis, negotiation strategies and macroeconomics for executives, navigating global risks and trends.
