Jonathan Gragg, Owner at Float District, has been recognized by Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the Health and Wellness Industry.
A recognized authority in the health and wellness sector, Mr. Gragg acquired Float District in May 2024, where he has been leading the La Vista, Nebraska-based wellness center with a focus on expanding access to innovative self-care services. The facility offers float tanks for sensory deprivation, infrared saunas, cold plunge therapy, red light therapy and vibroacoustic therapy. Under Mr. Gragg’s direction, Float District has become known for its comprehensive approach to wellness and its commitment to serving both the local community and military personnel. New arrivals from the nearby U.S. Air Force base receive welcome packets and complimentary services, while veterans are honored with free sessions on Veterans Day. Military members also benefit from discounted rates every Friday.
Mr. Gragg’s entry into the wellness sector represents an addition to his professional pursuits rather than a departure from his established career in information technology (IT). His passion for computers began at an early age when he was inspired by watching his father play video games on a Commodore 64. Although he initially aspired to develop video games after leaving the military in 2001, he ultimately chose to explore broader opportunities in technology and business. Mr. Gragg has spent most of his life in the IT field, running his own private business that provides contract IT services ranging from troubleshooting to large-scale implementations.
Before establishing himself as a business owner, Mr. Gragg built a diverse professional background across several industries. He worked at Dell Inc. from 2006 to 2011, where he gained valuable experience in technology solutions and client support. Mr. Gragg also spent several years at TD Ameritrade (now Charles Schwab & Co. Inc.) between 2003 and 2006, which allowed him to further hone his skills in networking and software programming.
Mr. Gragg’s career also included significant military service as an E-4 with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army from 1998 to 2001. During this period, he served as a military contractor in both Iraq and Afghanistan. When his base in Iraq was closed, he relocated to Afghanistan and continued his work supporting military operations. Although Mr. Gragg sought to volunteer for Bosnia rotations, reenlistment requirements led him to transition out of active service. Upon returning home, he leveraged his military experience to take on increasing responsibilities in civilian roles and further develop his expertise.
Highly educated, Mr. Gragg’s academic credentials reflect a strong foundation in IT and security. He earned an associate degree in client-server computer programming from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 2003, a bachelor’s degree in networking, web networking and software programming in 2006, and a master’s degree in information assurance from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2012. These qualifications have enabled him to excel across multiple sectors by equipping him with advanced problem-solving abilities and technical acumen. In addition to his formal education, Mr. Gragg obtained a private pilot’s license in 2022, an achievement that underscores his commitment to continuous learning and personal growth.
Civic involvement is central to Mr. Gragg’s identity and values. Since 2007, he has served as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas, guiding his little brother through important life decisions and providing ongoing support for him and his family. He considers being a positive influence as a big brother more rewarding than any business or military success. Mr. Gragg has also extended complimentary wellness services at Float District to employees of Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, as recognition for their dedication.
Throughout his career journey, Mr. Gragg has been recognized for both professional excellence and community engagement. In April 2025, he was featured in City Lifestyle Magazine for his leadership at Float District. He also received the Omaha Choice Award for Float District from the Omaha World-Herald in 2025 and the La Vista Wellness Award for Float District in 2026. In recognition of his military service, Mr. Gragg was decorated with multiple U.S. Army Achievement Medals.
Mr. Gragg attributes much of his success to resilience developed through overcoming challenges and learning from failure. He approaches obstacles with humor and determination, never allowing setbacks to define him but instead viewing them as opportunities for growth or tasks requiring resolution. This mindset has enabled Mr. Gragg to remain adaptable throughout varied career transitions while maintaining perspective on what truly matters.
Looking ahead, Mr. Gragg plans to expand Float District by opening additional locations beyond Omaha with particular interest in Austin, Texas. He is also engaged in real estate ventures, including property acquisition in New York, where he seeks to educate family members about building generational wealth using VA home loans. Mr. Gragg encourages those considering careers in health and wellness or technology not simply to follow trends but instead to pursue meaningful work that contributes positively both personally and within their communities.
