Title: Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Company: Autovol
Location: Meridian, Idaho, United States
Richard D. Murdock, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder at Autovol, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business management and manufacturing.
Possessing an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age, Mr. Murdock has always enjoyed working with other individuals and desired to implement process automation to more corporations to reduce the cost of manual labor. Delving into the manufacturing industry when he was just 20 years old, he commenced his career in 1995 as the vice president of operations for American Homestar in Texas, maintaining the position until 1999. After two years, he joined Guerdon Modular Buildings in 2001 as co-founder and chief operating officer and remained with the company for 15 fruitful years before departing in 2016. Since his departure from the aforementioned business, he has founded a number of his own business ventures, including Prefab Logic LLC in 2016, where he has been a co-founder. Likewise, he founded and has served as chief executive officer of Waypaver International and has been the chief executive officer and co-founder of Autovol, both since 2018.
Mr. Murdock attributes his success to his ability to work with others, treat his colleagues and employers well, having a reliable and excellent team of staff members and his own sense of perseverance. Remaining humble, he also enjoys surrounding himself with those who are more intelligent than he believes himself to be, allowing himself to remain open to new opportunities and avenues of education. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of one of his companies being the first modular manufacturing company that delved into the multi-family multi-story business, which differed from the norm at the time. Building locations along the Western United States and in Canada, he is remarkably proud of making major strides in automation for the use of construction in apartment buildings.
Mr. Murdock acknowledges that there is a lack of skilled labor within the younger generations who involve themselves in the trades. However, he is insightful and knows that the industry will reach new heights in the future, gaining the recognition it deserves. Always at the forefront of his businesses and industry, Mr. Murdock notes that it is important for an individual to complete goals for not only the betterment of themselves, but also for everyone else involved. He believes that every individual who has attained success has done so due to their surroundings of other successful individuals.
To remain abreast of developments in the field, Mr. Murdock has maintained affiliation with the Modular Builders Institute and is also involved in his local Chamber of Commerce. As a testament to his success, he and his companies were named Best Design and Best Builder. Looking toward the future, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career. He is the proud father of three daughters.
