Growing up, Mr. Floyd observed his father, who worked in lawn maintenance and pool sanitation for several estates in Florida. He later realized his interests in the environment and landscaping and decided to pursue a career in the field. Furthermore, he earned a Bachelor of Science in ornamental horticulture from the University of Florida in 1981. Soon thereafter, Mr. Floyd secured a Florida State Irrigation License and began working in the sod division of DiVosta Homes from 1984 to 2007.
Moreover, he became the owner of Impact Landscape & Irrigation in 2007. A renowned full-service landscaping company in South Florida, Impact Landscape & Irrigation also provides irrigation and design options for customers in need of aesthetically pleasing results. An achievement to Mr. Floyd’s credit includes watching his company grow 40% in 2019. For his accomplishments, he was featured in the Top 100 List by the Lawn and Landscaping Magazine between 2017 and 2018. The way Mr. Floyd thought of the name of his business was that through having a vision/plan, one can execute it and it has an “impact” on one’s community.
To remain aware of changes in the field of horticulture, Mr. Floyd maintains a membership with the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association. Mr. Floyd attributes his success to being family-oriented and fair with his employees. In the coming years, he hopes to nurture his son to take over Impact Landscape & Irrigation.
