Willie Zachariah Jackson Sr., the owner at Jackson Trucking Company LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of logistics.
Recognized for over five decades of experience in the field of logistics and trucking, Mr. Jackson has earned distinction as the owner of Jackson Trucking Company LLC (JTC), a regional freight carrier, since 1967. In this capacity, he serves as a contractor on behalf of The Home Depot Inc., and works alongside his son and grandson, who both take a managing role in the company. Based in Newman, California, JTC primarily works in the Bay Area of San Francisco, as well as in Utah and further afield.
Mr. Jackson first became involved in the field of trucking due to the influence of his father, who served in transportation. Having grown up on a farm, he had always been fascinated with automotive equipment, and learned to drive a tractor at the age of nine. Among his career highlights since then, he is most proud that several of his sons and grandchildren have followed him into the trucking industry – in addition to the two who work with him at JTC, another son of his serves as the owner of S&L Trucking Company. Despite his advanced age, Mr. Jackson is equally gratified to have continued driving on a regular basis, having made upwards of $200,000 driving trucks on behalf of his sons.
Outside of his work in trucking, Mr. Jackson has distinguished himself in the construction industry, having worked at Harris Rebar and as a leadman at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation in San Francisco. Among his accomplishments in this capacity, he was involved in the construction of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, which required him to haul pieces of rebar until the project was complete. Additionally, he worked on a bridge replacement project on Interstate 5, a major highway, in California.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Jackson largely credits the example of his father, who exemplified a strong work ethic. The inspiration he provided spurred Mr. Jackson to help provide for his mother and two younger brothers long after his father had passed away, further developing his sense of responsibility and shaping him into the man he is today.
