He designed the restaurant with a unique combination of menu offerings of American Chinese cuisine and authentic Chinese cuisine, which Mr. Wang added when he purchased the restaurant in 2019. He immigrated to the United States in 2008. Before embarking on his professional path, he pursued an education at Lanzhou University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010. He began his career by establishing himself as the owner of an import and export trading business.
In 2018, Mr. Wang decided to buy the restaurant from a friend, despite not having any background in the industry. Four months after making the necessary investments and preparations to open, the COVID-19 pandemic began and jeopardized his business. To his great credit, he did enough research to establish an adaptive approach to operating his new venture, managed to keep it afloat through the lockdown, and steered it to the success it subsequently accumulated.
In the immediate future, Mr. Wang intends to find a more efficient solution to tackle the labor and workforce challenges that come with operating a restaurant. He envisions incorporating cutting-edge technology and innovative practices to help him achieve this goal. He plans to invest in additional vending machines to offset the high labor salaries and costs, and to address the issue of staff shortages that has been plaguing the hospitality industry. Eventually, he hopes to establish more restaurant locations in the years to come.
