Jennie Lasater, Co-owner at Lice Ladies, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in entrepreneurship.
With 25 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Lasater has excelled as the co-owner of Lice Ladies Atlanta since 2008, Lice Ladies Products LLC since 2011 and Lice Ladies Franchise Clinic since 2015. Working alongside her fellow co-owner, Molly, she established the company and began developing a product line due to a lack of quality products in the marketplace. She subsequently released their first product, “Lice Ladies Evict,” in 2011, followed by a daily preventative spray called “Lice Ladies Prevent,” both of which have received the National Drug Code from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. After opening a clinic in the Metro Atlanta area, Ms. Lasater opened seven additional clinics while expanding their franchise locations to Athens, Georgia and Dallas, Texas.
Since 1998, Ms. Lasater has also collaborated with Molly in an R&B group named Intrygue, with which they recorded a single that rose to #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Touring alongside a number of boy bands, including the Backstreet Boys, Intrygue notably signed a record contract and refined her knowledge of business during this time, some of which they have been able to apply to Lice Ladies. Initially working in the financial sector, Ms. Lasater briefly wrote science textbooks for continuing education courses before dedicating her time and focus to her endeavors with Lice Ladies.
To support her professional endeavors, Ms. Lasater pursued an education at Brenau University, initially earning a bachelor’s degree in biology. She concluded her studies at the aforementioned university in 2007, graduating with a Master of Science in biology. Beyond her primary responsibilities in her field, she has occasionally participated in charitable efforts within her community. Moreover, Ms. Lasater fondly recalls speaking to survivors of childhood abuse at an important conference in Atlanta, an experience that directly made a difference in people’s lives and inspired others to seek their own academic success.
As a testament to her exceptional endeavors, Ms. Lasater was presented with the Best of Cumming, Georgia Award in 2021. She attributes her success to having a business partner who has also been her best friend for over 25 years. She is also grateful to have worked with Bill Carlson, a scientist who improved their product formula and became not only Lice Ladies’ manufacturer, but a friend as well. Having overcome the odds as a small business to survive the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Lasater hopes to continue opening additional Lice Ladies franchises while increasing the visibility of their quality products on Amazon.com and ushering those same products into new stores in the coming years.
