Company: Good Land Wine Shop
Location: Goleta, California, United States

Douglas William Trantow, owner and operator of Good Land Wine Shop, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners and Entrepreneurs for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the wine industry.

Mr. Trantow leverages several decades of experience as a multi-faceted business owner and manager. He recently began his own wining company, Good Land Wine Shop, based in Goleta, California, in 2022. The shop and bar is well-regarded in the community for its unique selection of locally sourced and produced wines and beers from coast of California. Likewise, the establishment also features several tasting rooms, in addition to hosting winemaker events, where customers can meet the makers of the beverages sold by the company. As part of his current professional endeavors, Mr. Trantow earned his sommelier certification from The Court of Master Sommeliers.

Prior to current professional endeavors, Mr. Trantow found a wealth of success in the music industry, working on a variety of projects as a mixer, engineer and producer. Most notably, he was a producer for Linkin Park’s 2002 remix album “Reanimation,” an engineer and mixer for the 2005 and 2007 Korn albums “See You on the Other Side” and “Untitled,” and an engineer for Nine Inch Nails’ 2007 album “Year Zero” and for Santana’s 2010 collection “Guitar Heaven.” Mr. Trantow has also mixed and produced a number of movie and television scores, including for episodes of “CSI Miami” in 2003, the 2005 film “The Book of Eli,” the 2017 films “The House” and “The Pirates of Somalia,” and the 2019 film “Drunk Parents.”

Ever-committed to his numerous professional endeavors, Mr. Trantow maintains his affiliation with several industry-related organizations, including the Audio Engineering Society Inc. and the Recording Academy (formally known as the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences). Before embarking on his vocational journey, he pursued a higher education at California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music production in 1991. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Trantow was nominated for a Grammy Award and for several JUNO Awards.

In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Trantow has largely attributed his success to his determination. Though he spent nearly 30 years in the field, as the landscape of the music industry began to change, he was glad to shift gears and begin working in wining. To wit, it is similarly a profession he deeply enjoys. Accounting for his accomplishments, Mr. Trantow is particularly proud of his roots, having begun his career working in the restaurant industry as a busser and eventually managing his own restaurant for some time. This greatly assisted in his natural gravitation to owning his own wine company. In the coming years, Mr. Trantow looks forward to finding further success with his business.
