Drawing on more than 35 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Ms. Richardson has garnered acclaim through her work as the owner of Lake Gaston Pizza & More, a locally-owned restaurant in Littleton, North Carolina, that offers impeccable pizza and such Southern home-style offerings as cheesy bread sticks, pork rinds, cream cheese poppers, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles and chicken wings, among many other options, including Red Oak brewery craft beer. Well-regarded for her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Richardson’s restaurant was lauded with various Readers’ Choice Awards in 2021 and 2022, and for having the best pizza, wings, burgers, sub sandwiches, and wait staff for multiple years running. Previously, Ms. Richardson found success as the owner of Old Grand Lodge from 1984 until 1985.
Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Richardson is an avid supporter of Wobble Island Inc., a local nonprofit organization whose Labor Day “Lake-a-palooza” event raises funds for various charities, museums and first responders. Additionally, she volunteers and donates to the Toys for Tots organization. On a personal level, Ms. Richardson enjoys such avocations as kayaking, paddle boarding and watching movies with her friends.
Before embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Richardson studied at beauty school and received a merchandising degree at Carolyn Hansen Fashion College in 1984. She also undertook coursework in art at Grace College. Ms. Richardson first became involved in the restaurant business due to the influence of her husband. Among her most dearly held accomplishments since then, she is proud to have become a pillar of her local community, and to have invested so much of her time and effort to giving back to those less fortunate. In accounting for her subsequent success, Ms. Richardson largely credits her parents, whose lessons and support proved instrumental to her career. Looking toward the future, she aspires to commence her retirement within the next decade.
