Specializing in a variety of financial disciplines, including auditing and both corporate and personal income taxes, he has served as the owner of Alan C. Anderson, Chartered CPA, his general accounting firm based in Rochester, Minnesota, since 1962. As the head of his business, he oversees his entire staff and a variety of daily operations, including assisting clients with financial planning, conducting accounting audits and managing taxes. Adjacent to his primary duties managing his own firm, Mr. Anderson has similarly offered his expertise to various other local accounting firms since 1962. Before embarking on his vocational journey, he pursued a formal education. As a student of Macalester College, he achieved a Bachelor of Science in 1957. Throughout his time in the field, Mr. Anderson has guided himself and others following his core principles; “See it big. Keep it simple. Do it with class.” In light of his fulfilling career, he has largely attributed his success to his good health, passion for his profession and a modicum of luck. Accounting for his achievements, he is particularly proud to have established his own firm and to have successfully managed it throughout his tenure in the field. Looking to the future, Mr. Anderson hopes to continue aiding the Carl and Verna Schmidt Foundation for several more years before training his successor.
