Nicolai Canetti has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievement, and leadership in graphic design, product design and photography.
With more than 40 years of experience, Mr. Canetti has excelled since 1979 as the chairman of the Canetti Design Group Inc. In this role, he employs his design expertise to supervise the production of new ideas into finished products.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Canetti studied and graduated from an academy of design with degrees in graphic design and photography. Right after graduating, Mr. Canetti started as a teacher of design and photography at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. While living there for four years, he also published several photography books such as “ The Book of Lions”, “The book of Elephants” and “In the shadow of Kilimanjaro”.
Mr. Canetti continued to find success through his creative works. As a photographer he continued to publish over 15 books with such international subjects as “The Streets of San Francisco”, “The Rooftop of Paris”, and “The Parks and Mews of London”. He also created and served as Art Director at several publication houses, such as “Madison Avenue Magazine,” the advertising world magazine.
Through Canetti Design Group Mr. Canetti invented and designed new innovative products in such categories as Picture Frames, Clocks, and Working Women Bags. Some of the iconic items are “The Original Magnet Frame”, amongst the first of frameless frames, and timepieces that changed the clock and watch category forever with such brands as –“Artime” and “Moderntime” Collections.
In the past twenty years, Mr. Canetti took a breather form the design world and has expanded his area of innovation and creativity to other projects, including sustainable energy, and international real estate projects.
Currently, Mr. Canetti is working with MoMA to reproduce some of his iconic designs from the 80s exclusively. He is also developing a CANETTI Retro site to encompass all his past works and is working on three new photography books with unique subjects that he has been following for the past 30 years.
Mr. Canetti enjoys product design, photography, and traveling, and to keep abreast of his field, he maintains affiliation with the Industrial Designers Society of America. Mr. Canetti owns numerous trademarks and patents and was recognized for his innovation in design and photography through a large number of international trophies and awards.
