Continuing his educational journey at Willamette University, where he received a scholarship to play basketball and played for four years, he graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business, along with minors in communications and media. Furthering his expertise, he obtained a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the Willamette MBA in 2020.
Mr. Sherfey’s professional trajectory began with humble origins, starting his career while still in high school. At the age of 16 in 2015, he embarked on his initial job at Edward Jones as a financial assistant, simultaneously balancing night shifts at McDonald’s, showcasing his determination and work ethic. Throughout his career, Mr. Sherfey has assumed diverse roles and responsibilities. He found success as an administrative assistant intern at Avors Medical Group in 2016, laying a solid foundation in the professional realm. Transitioning into the financial sector, he served as a corporate finance intern at Coastal Community Bank in 2017, followed by an internship at State Farm until 2018. Concurrently, he undertook the role of senior property manager at Meadow Creek Properties, highlighting his versatile skill set. Additionally, in 2018, he was recruited as a finance intern at The Retirement Solution Inc., further enriching his expertise.
Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Sherfey holds executive and leadership positions, serving as Board Vice President for the Snoqualmie Valley Preservation Alliance, Vice President for the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce Board, and on the boards for Carnation Parks & Planning, Carnation 4th of July committee, SnoValley Finance & Government Affairs committee, and Riverview School District Finance Committee. He also founded and led Bottles for Benefit, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focusing on providing financial assistance in school supplies to disadvantaged children. Also, his volunteer work spans various organizations, including Beyond Sports Tours, Lewis County Food Bank, and mission trips with Centralia Community Church.
Mr. Sherfey’s contributions have garnered recognition, with Remlinger Farms receiving acclaim as the Best Family Farm in Washington State by KING-TV. He has also been honored with the Scholar Athlete Award and the National James E. Sullivan Award. Looking ahead, Mr. Sherfey envisions expanding Remlinger Farms into a grand establishment reminiscent of the former glory of Knott’s Berry Farm, underscoring his ambition and foresight in the agricultural sector.
