Quickly establishing itself as an award-winning food truck in the region with renowned angus smash burgers, Carolina Jax has been celebrated on numerous occasions over the past several years, garnering inclusion in Rachel Ray’s Burger Bash in 2020, Bobby Flay’s Burger Bash in 2021, and the Food Network’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival. They were also presented with the People’s Choice Award from Burger Beast’s Hamburger House Party in 2019. Outside of his primary responsibilities with Carolina Jax, Mr. Bushee contributes to his community through the food truck, supporting the local unhoused population through their participation in “Miracle on Ashley Street,” local recovering addicts through his work with the Rent Recovery Program, and others in need through the Clara White Mission and The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

A graduate of Southeast Guilford High School, Mr. Bushee initially pursued an education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, during which time he discovered his passion for cooking. Notably, he advanced from a server to an administrator for Waffle House soon thereafter, gaining recognition as the youngest manager in the franchise’s history at the age of 23. Attributing his success to his exceptional work ethic, his unwavering determination, and his supportive network of family and friends, he is incredibly proud to have accrued more than 1,200 glowing reviews on Google, from which Carolina Jax has maintained a 4.7 rating and garnered attention from The Food Network and The Cooking Channel. In the coming years, Mr. Bushshee hopes to expand his business while exploring different concepts and avenues, including a potential breakfast establishment.
