Title: Owner
Company: Hartman Statewide Buildings Inc.
Location: Princeton, Illinois, United States
Ryan Hartman, owner of Hartman Statewide Buildings Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in construction.
With two and a half decades of experience, Mr. Hartman has established a successful career in construction, specializing in post-frame construction, including commercial, agricultural, residential, and barndominium projects. He has been the owner of Hartman Statewide Buildings Inc. since 2005, where he is responsible for estimating, project design, construction, and overseeing the overall work. Previously, he also served as a contract salesman for Wick Buildings, a leading construction company specializing in the design and construction of high-quality post-frame buildings for agricultural, commercial, and residential purposes. He is also actively involved in his community, holding memberships with the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce and serving as president of the Hartman Gun Club. He also dedicates his time as a board member at his local church. He laid a solid educational foundation with coursework in occupational safety from Northern Illinois University. His achievements have earned him numerous industry awards, including the Building of the Year award in 2021.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Hartman recalls how his father worked in construction, immersing him in the industry from a young age. Throughout high school, he spent summers assisting his father, gaining valuable hands-on experience. As he pursued his college education, he secured a position with a construction company, which allowed him to work while studying. One of his proudest achievements is constructing a community building for veterans, a project that earned him the Building of the Year award in 2021. He also played a pivotal role in helping a family friend who needed a garage and living space for his visiting mother-in-law and mother. They had been working on a design when the pandemic struck, and with six children, the friend envisioned a building that could accommodate a homeschooling space in the attic while also providing storage for the family’s vehicles. His impactful contributions led to several awards for the company he worked for at the time.
Mr. Hartman attributes his success to the hard work ethic instilled by his parents and the enjoyment he finds in his daily work. Looking ahead, he is focused on securing his financial future for retirement and guiding his children in the right direction. He is also determined to expand his business and explore new opportunities, all while supporting his son and daughter in achieving their goals. He advises aspiring professionals to work hard, persevere, and learn from their mistakes to improve and succeed in the future. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys life on his farm, where he and his family care for five to six horses, five cats, and two dogs. His son, currently a junior in high school, is working toward securing a football scholarship for college. His daughter is an accomplished rodeo competitor who recently won the junior high state finals barrel racing championship. This achievement earned her a spot in the Junior High National Rodeo in Des Moines, Iowa, where she will compete against participants from all 50 states, as well as Australia, Canada, and Mexico.
