Mr. Badalamenti, president and chief executive officer of BLD Architecture since 2016, has been lauded for his expertise as a sought-after architect based in Patchogue, New York. In his leading role, he and his staff have been involved in projects throughout New York, from Montauk to Westchester, as well as in Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Specializing in industrial work, Mr. Badalamenti has been recognized for managing significant warehouse distribution projects, film studios, and projects for Netflix, Silvercup and Grumman Studios, as well as mixed-use residential development. He currently has approximately 3,000 units in progress. Moreover, his team is working on expanding the Jake 58 Casino, a $160 million hotel and casino project that includes renovating 225 rooms and expanding the casino and parking garage, with a completion date in 2027.
Before his present position, Mr. Badalamenti succeeded as a managing principal at Baldassano Architecture LLP from 2004 to 2015 in the Ronkonkoma area of New York. A 30-year-old firm at the time, it was rebranded in 2006 and re-branded in 2015 as BLD. Mr. Badadamenti also enjoyed a significant tenure as an associate principal at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, an award-winning international architectural design firm based in New York City, between 1988 and 2004.
In addition to managing his firm, Mr. Badalamenti has played a pivotal role on the boards of Gallery North and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 2017. Leveraging his expertise to help other organizations has been very rewarding.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Badalamenti received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1985. In addition to his education, he has been actively engaged with various industry-related organizations to remain abreast in his field, such as AIA, where he was active on the Long Island chapter as a committee member and board of directors. Mr. Badalamenti has also been affiliated with civic organizations and is a member of the Saint George’s Golf and Country Club in his leisure time.
The success of Mr. Badalamenti’s work was featured in several notable publications in 2024, including Long Island Business News, Architectural Digest Magazine and the New York Real Estate Journal. He has also received numerous accolades, including being named Top Architectural Firm by Long Island Business News and receiving an Award of Excellence for Compact Residential Design for the Bulova Watchcase Factory. Vision Long Island also recognized him as a Build a Better Burb finalist.
