Mr. Hearon, a leading expert in the transportation and heavy equipment industry, has devoted over five decades to his profession. Since 1983, he has served as the president of Hearon Investment Company, an equipment leasing company headquartered in Mercer Island, Washington, where he oversees the leasing company’s operations and provides equipment to a diverse range of clients. Additionally, Mr. Hearon is a partner of a used-truck dealership, further expanding his influence within the sector. His ability to excel is underscored by his extensive knowledge of related industries and his commitment to building lasting relationships with clients, many of whom have become lifelong friends. 

After earning his college degree, Mr. Hearon was assistant to the vice president of operations at a local truck leasing company. In this capacity, he managed operational strategies and contributed to the company’s growth by leveraging his expertise in transportation logistics and client relations.

Mr. Hearon then worked with International Harvester in Portland, Oregon, where he began as a truck salesman. His exceptional sales acumen earned him multiple sales awards, setting the foundation for his future leadership roles within the industry. Mr. Hearon’s initial professional experience included working as a part-time school bus driver while in college, which provided him with firsthand knowledge of vehicle operation and safety and would later prove invaluable throughout his career.

Mr. Hearon also spent 10 years as a general manager at Mack Trucks in Seattle, Washington. During his tenure, he was responsible for overseeing sales operations, managing staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction. One of his proudest accomplishments was decertifying two unions since his employees trusted him so much.

Mr. Hearon’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lewis & Clark College in Portland in 1972. In addition to his degree, he obtained a commercial driver’s license in 1969, further demonstrating his commitment to understanding all aspects of the transportation industry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Hearon is actively involved in civic life as a member of Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. His faith plays a central role in his life.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hearon has been recognized for his achievements and contributions. In addition to receiving several sales awards during his time at International Harvester, he received an operational award from Mack Trucks, which resulted in Mr. Hearon being recognized in part of a full-page article and his picture in the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Hearon attributes much of his success to the values instilled by his family, especially his father, William Montgomery “Mont” Hearon, who was also inducted into Who’s Who in 1965.

When he is not busy managing the operations of his company, Hearon Investment Company, Mr. Hearon enjoys collecting and restoring classic cars, which he displays in car shows and parades. He is also committed to watching his family grow and strives to  be a loving husband, good person, and a good role model to his two daughters, one son, and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Hearon’s journey reflects not only expertise in transportation but also an unwavering commitment to integrity, family values and community involvement. These qualities have defined both his career and personal life.
