Ms. Santillo’s earlier career included serving as the director of public relations and media for the American Marketing Association from 2012 to 2013, during which she managed media relations and enhanced the organization’s public profile. She also excelled as an expert freelance writer and editor at LivePerson between 2006 and 2011, contributing high-quality content across various platforms.

Ms. Santillo’s tenure as a public relations specialist at Shriners Hospitals for Children from 2004 to 2016 allowed her to develop expertise in nonprofit communications and advocacy. She began her career as a desktop publisher at AchieveGlobal now Korn Ferry) in 2001.

Ms. Santillo’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication from the University of South Florida in Tampa, completed in 2000, and a Master of Arts in management from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska, earned in 2005. While working toward her undergraduate degree, she interned at Clear Channel Communications (now iHeartMedia Inc.) from 1997 to 1998. Further enhancing her expertise, Ms. Santillo earned professional credentials from Wanderlust Campus, a respected travel agent school, as a certified travel professional and certified travel industry coach in 2020 and 2021, respectively. These academic achievements have provided a strong foundation for her leadership roles and strategic decision-making abilities.

Actively involved in industry organizations, Ms. Santillo engages with the American Society of Travel Advisors and the Cruise Lines International Association, reflecting her commitment to professional development and industry standards. Beyond her professional pursuits, she served as the director of non-profit accounts for Kudoz Network from 2018 to 2020, demonstrating a commitment to civic engagement and support for nonprofit initiatives.

In 2011, Ms. Santillo launched “I Look Good Today” to uplift readers, connect them with other disabled members of the community like herself, and help them look past their exteriors. As a physically disabled person, she remains driven to demonstrate to others that her physical limitations do not define her.

In light of Ms. Santillo’s success, Adventures by Jamie was named Best Travel Agency in Tampa Bay in 2022 and 2023, Best Travel Agency in Wesley Chapel in 2023 and 2024, and Best Travel Agency in Florida for three consecutive years. She credits much of her accomplishments to the support of her family and the owner of Wanderlust Campus, whose guidance has been instrumental in shaping her career trajectory. She also acknowledges the contributions of her team, whose talent and dedication inspire her ongoing growth as a leader. Looking ahead, Ms. Santillo aims to trademark Adventures by Jamie while continuing to collaborate with tourism boards, destination marketing organizations and industry partners to promote greater inclusivity within the travel sector.
