Before joining Unison, Mr. Mandozai served as the interim chief financial officer for a stealth mode startup company from 2024 to 2025, where he was instrumental in driving the enterprise SaaS platform’s financial strategic direction. During that same time frame, he also served as a partner in the technology, media and telecommunications sector at Rockdale Partners, an independent financial advisory firm.
From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Mandozai was the head of corporate development at Nextdoor, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing platform growth and revenue generation. His tenure at Rakuten Americas between 2018 and 2022 was marked by significant achievements, including his role as the senior vice president of corporate development. During this period, Mr. Mandozai successfully developed the venture capability in the U.S., transforming Rakuten into a brand with an improved score and driving substantial growth through strategic investments. Notably, his efforts resulted in an impressive internal rate of return of over 95%. Additionally, during this time, Mr. Mandozai served on the boards of ShopBack and Womply, contributing to their growth and eventual success.
Mr. Mandozai’s earlier career included his role as the director of strategy and corporate development at Rakuten Kobo Inc. from 2017 to 2018. He also excelled as a senior business strategy consultant at Accenture Strategy between 2014 and 2017. Mr. Mandozai’s journey began at TD Securities in 2008 as an analyst before advancing to senior analyst at TD Bank Group until 2013.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Mandozai earned a Bachelor of Administrative Studies in finance from York University in 2008. He later pursued a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, graduating in 2014. Mr. Mandozai’s commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by his chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation, obtained in 2013.
Mr. Mandozai is a member of the CFA Institute. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is actively involved in civic-minded initiatives, giving back to the community by volunteering at basketball camps.
