Before his current executive positions, Mr. Klopfer spent 25 years with Magnetics, a division of Spang and Co., in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a company that specializes in the research, design and production of precision soft magnetic components for the electronics industry. This lengthy tenure shaped his entrepreneurial journey. Mr. Klopfer was also associated with the American Concrete Institute during his career, which was foundational to his engineering background.
Mr. Klopfer’s educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1975 and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1984. During his undergraduate studies, he had the unique opportunity to learn directly from astronaut Neil Armstrong at the university’s College of Engineering. This experience not only provided Mr. Klopfer with advanced technical skills, such as calculating orbital velocity and satellite dynamics, but also offered memorable moments outside the classroom that enriched his academic journey.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Klopfer remains civically engaged through various associations and is dedicated to sharing his knowledge with aspiring entrepreneurs. He advises those entering the field to conduct thorough market research before investing resources, a principle that has successfully guided his own ventures over the years.
Mr. Klopfer’s real estate firm earned recognition as one of the Top Landlords in its regional market due to exceptional property maintenance standards. He attributes much of his success to personal determination developed after early setbacks outside college and during his transition from corporate employment to entrepreneurship. Looking ahead, he plans to continue leading his companies while serving on corporate boards to mentor others. He also anticipates doubling his asset base in real estate.
